With an old rifle that may have not have one. I even believe that the serial numbers was optional in 1960 Act. This may seem long, but many of us have weapons that are more than 100 years and they, like any other instrument

Before the law on arms control in 1968, manufacturers are not required to stamp the serial numbers of their weapons. The budget can not have one.
After Gun Control Act of 1968, as part of a firearm, or commonly referred to as the receiver has engraved the serial number. In fact, the weapons to be had from the BATF considered as the whole weapon, but do not allow any other party.

Remove the handle and open the shutter. First look down at the base of her buttocks. If not, remove the barrel and back to searching.
